The Lake of the Devil; Lake Mead 2012 US Open and the last stop on tour.

No comments:
The US Open was notable, every US Open is different.  Lake Mead changes every day. I had a tremendous pattern.  The 1st day I had 9.75.  I saved my best water for day 2 but as everybody knows at the US Open everything has to go your way. I lost a 5 and 3 early and tried to shake that off  a 1/2 hour later lost a 3 lb smalley that came of and did the famous tail walk and hour and 1/2 hours later the same thing with another smalley.  I had my opportunities and I wouldn't change a thing if it happened tomorrow. I love that lake even though it's the lake of the devil.  I had the right pattern.

Funny VIDEO; Hook in MY Arm! How to NOT remove a hook in the arm!

No comments:
Earlier this year, Steve Watte aka "Big Bird" hooked my arm with a crank bait at Clear Lake.  We tracked down Mike Folkestad who was kind enough to use his expertise to take the hook out or rather attempt to take the hook out.  Alan Todd and Andy Manahl were there putting in their 2 cents worth.

It was very painful but here's a video of Mike trying to remove the hook and all the characters making their comments.  I tell you this coming trip to Clear Lake, my practice partner Big Bird will not be throwing baits with exposed hooks....and he doesn't know it yet, but I will be removing the hooks from his crank bait.  So check out this video...you will be amused by the happenings....it wasn't funny at when it happened but now it's quite comical....and it HURT!!!!
